PHA test results & registration # error
« Thread Started on Sept 3, 2009, 3:53pm »

Hi All,

We just received 9 PHA test results from Igenity. I am please to say that all the animals were PHA free.

I also want to mention that there was an error on the report. They had an incorrect ADCA registration number for one of my animals. I checked the copies of everything I sent in to them to verify it wasn't an error I had made, which it wasn't.
So please when you received your reports check your registration numbers against the report to make sure they are correct.

My herd is now PHA & Chondro free...

Barb

Thats good news for you, Barb, glad you caught the wrong ADCA #, things like that are important. I got all mine sent off, but haven't got the results yet, it sure does get costly after a while, but I guess it has to be done.

Congrats Barb, I know what waiting for the results is like :( Rhonda, I agree with Barb. Start with your bull and then the oldest cow of each family line in your herd. Don't forget that it is only those with at risk pedigrees, Priapus or Wheatear, no matter how far removed. Also don't forget to check the ADCA (and/or PDCA if you are a member) site for cows and bulls already tested and their status. Sometimes you might find that a cow or bull further up the line of your pedigree has already been tested and their status might make your testing, required or not. That's why it is great when people report their results publicly; what a tool for others! Liz

Hi Gerry,

There is a place on the Igenity submission form for you to designate if you want to receive your test results by email or by mail, or both. You can check both boxes and they will email and mail you a copy of the test results. You can either forward the emailed test results or make a copy of the mailed test results for your file and send in the original mailed copy to the registry. You can also have Igenity send in your test results to the registry.

What's really nice about the Igenity reporting system is that you can setup an account at Igenity and actually access your test reports at any time, print copies of your test results, or email your test results. It's a great service and a much needed improvement over how these test results were handled by AgriGenomics.

Hope this helps,

Patti

Gerry, I e-mailed Chuck Dagget and he said to send him the animals name and registration number and the results. the result paper you get from Igenity doesn't give much in the way of ID so I had to match mine up by the tatoo number, then I sent the results to to Chuck.
