Just to let everyone know , Sassy finally had her calf...A very little red heifer!!!...( This Sassy's first calf)......I had just looked out the window to check on her,( I can see her from my bathroom window),and sassy was just standing there like always....Well I came into the living room and in just that short of time, Carl went and looked out the bedroom window....Right beside the bathroom...Sassy had walked about 10 feet and just must have drop the calf...Carl came and said " It's doing it", GOD bless him, he didn't know how to say Sassy was calving....Anyway, I went back to the bathroom window and there she was, on the ground.....And Sassy was licking her....Boy, talk about quick!...Anyway, she is a cute little one.....I cannot post pictures, can't figure out how to do.....Ya'll will just have to look on FB....Only concern I have about the calf is , her front legs look a little weak, they kinda bend back some instead of being straight.....Should I be concerned about this?.....Didn't take her long to find the milk bar.....Haven't seen her pee or poop yet, but I will keep watching....We did go out and tattoo her, ear tag her and pulled tail hairs.....Had to wash all the gunk off her tail , then dry them.....I know she is A2-A2, but hoping she is homo polled.....HOORAH....No more night watch!.....Now, for a name?...Maybe " EB" would fit her and I could call her " Bunny"......That is also my baby sisters' name.....Her real name is Bernice but no one liked that so we started calling her Bunny....And it stuck....Have a good day everyone...I know I will now....I am really happy...Now just one more to go...The next one is due June21, JUST when the AGM is on!!!.....Oh my, should I go or not?.....This is another first timer too!...Oh my, I am in a pickle.....Our daughter is going to care for our animals and she has cattle so I know she would know what to do....But Now I am concerned....Well, I have over a month to think about it.....Ya'll take care....

I'm so excited for you! Bunny is a great name! Tell Carl "way to go!" Too bad we don't have a happy heifer dance smiley on here, because I'd put one up for you!

Congrats, So do you think she is a little early or late? And how little is little? It seems like every baby is the first one. It never gets old. Marsha

On the joints/legs looking odd - this is normal after birth. Things will straighten up in the next couple of weeks. Congrats.

Oh wow, Donna J, she did have an Easter Calf. I love Easter Bunny for a name, what else could she have been. At least now you don't have to think of a bull name. Congratulations on her being red and polled as well.

Have to thank you all for the congrats....I am so happy about a heifer...You are right Olga, her legs have straightened up and she has been flying around the pen like a bullet!....She sure does like to investigate!...Sassy is being such a good momma...I am hoping the calf will be homo polled.....I was having a problem naming her Bunny because I always name the calves with the first letter of the dams' name....Marsha up in Alaska, name her last years heifer "SKYE".....I thought that was a neat name and it starts with and "S"....So I asked her if she minded if I named this heifer "Skye"....She said she didn't....So I guess the little heifer will be named " COR Braydens" Red Skye".....I think that will suit her a little better than Bunny....But I like Bunny too...She is so tiny...I sure hope she grows!....I was so excited about her being a heifer, I put her ear tag no only backwards , but upside down!...LOL....Now I have to go change it and I sure hate to...She's not going to come near me again after I do it a second time....Poor little thing....
