I particularly like the red bull on the left. Hillview Heather is a really nice cow.

They were born in March-April of 2013 (so about 14 months old). I haven't registered them yet. We're breeding for healthy compact beefiness, and friendliness without ignoring milkiness. We don't use any de-worming medication because we'd rather cull any animals that are susceptible to parasites so we don't pass that genetic susceptibility on to the next generation. We rotate pastures and strip-graze constantly especially during parasite season. We also generally don't vaccinate (except required brucellosis) because we are selecting for natural resistance (although if something new and deadly came along, we'd probably vaccinate for that). Our annual vet bill is $0 (other than required brucellosis shots). You're not supposed to trust bulls, but ours are pretty darn trustworthy (probably due to the fact that I don't tolerate any bad behavior and I'm good at culling and we only breed out of VERY friendly bulls). The bulls NEVER challenge me, but they do beg for back rubs. Hillview Heather is an amazing cow and all of her calves hit the ground running. The young red bull on the left is out of Hillview Heather and he's an absolute sweetheart... he's more compact than some of Heather's earlier bull calves because we've been using more compact and beefier sires. The price is highly negotiable and a pretty good bargain.

I personally can vouch for Kirks stock. My current herd sire Wrangler is from Kirks breeding. edited to add: When you have an animal shipped from Oregon all the way to Texas that should tell you something about his herd. Barb

Hi Kirk,
Are your bulls still available? What are you asking for them?
We are in California so not too far from you guys.

Excellent stock, Kirk. You've done the breed proud.
Buyers shouldn't be afraid to ship long distances to get the quality and a chance to add your genetics to their herds. I've shipped animals to buyers all over the country, and not one has regretted it. It may add to the cost, but better to pay a reasonable price and add some shipping than pay a big price for a lesser aniamal closer to home (even if the seller is a great at self promotion, or shows a lot so can point to 'wins' in the show ring--that only counts if the competition is fierce). There is no substitute for true quality and genetic consistency and you have both.
Maybe you would do some research on shipping so you have names and prices for those who ask. Zieglers and Ron something do cross-country hauling and are reliable. The best of luck. Cheers, c.
