The last one is my favorite! So adorable! (And so innocent--who'd guess the trouble they'd been up to?)

Claire is a lovely looking cow Olga. The 2 calves are looking good, and at this stage it would be hard to pick, but I think I like Maxwell best. Just a bit more nuggety. I keep meaning to ask, obviously Maxine is well now, did you find out what was ailing her before when she had her tummy troubles? or did she just get over it and back to her normal self with time?

Maxine got better shortly after I gave her a stomach magnet. We were concerned with how possible hardware disease would be affected by late pregnancy, when everything is pushed around. But so far, so good. She looks to be in great shape.

She is obviously none the worse for wear, she looks healthy and carrying good weight, as well as doing a good job on her calf. So you are thinking it was hardware disease then ? Lucky you put the magnet in.

Wow, the boys are now 2 months old already! Java Java's horns are barely noticeable. Maxwell Maxwell must've got his mama's genetics for longer horns - they are about an inch by now. Here is Ding-A-Ling, aka Pistol Polly. She is due in Nov/Dec. She is still short but I wouldn't call her little. She is starting to look like a real cow.

Got the PHA results on the boys. Maxwell tested positive, Java tested negative. Would've preferred it the other way around. This way they both might end up as steers. Sure hope the last of Earnie's boys, Cary, tests negative.

I'm sorry, Olga. That wasn't a nice Christmas present, was it? I'm hoping with you for a nice negative on Cary! Btw, all of a sudden I can't see the photos any more. Do you have any idea why?

Found some pics that I forgot to upload in December. Jasmine with 6 mo. old Java Maxwell and Java, both at 6 mo. old. It is amazing what a difference a month makes. Java has been going through puberty and his appearance is changing rapidly. He is starting to get that bully look.
