I received an email this afternoon from Brian Payne (Keri-Rose Herd) with an announcement that their registered, purebred Kerry cattle herd along with the Sam and Myrla Johnson Kerry herd in Black Diamond, Alberta, Canada are for sale. Between them, they currently have over 60 registered Kerry females available and they want to have these cows and heifers sold before winter is upon them. Please send me a private message for more information.

How much would they be asking. I would probably not be able to buy an entire herd, but I could probably manage 4-5 cows/heifers and a bull. We live just north of Cochrane and are looking to start a herd, and these look like a breed that would suit our small, mixed organic (but not certified) farm.
Thanks so much!
Joanne :-)

HI Joanne, this is an old post from 2014 so not sure if they are still available, you could send a pm to Patti who made the post, she also has Kerry cattle so may be able to help you find others.

8 of those Kerry's came down across the boarder last month, all heifers. They have all been placed except one which is still at my place. All are registered. They were off the the range in Alberta but they have calmed down significantly. We are keeping one and the other is available. I would keep both but I am out of space. I stopped today at one of the breeders that took the first one off of the trailer and she has her halter broke and stanchion trained already. I could pet her anywhere. Very good progress for heifers that came off the range. I am hand feeding the two here at my place. In other words, they need a little one on one attention. Very nice cattle. If anyone is interested in acquiring some good Kerry genetics contact me. I am in Western Massachusetts. You would pay Rare Breeds Canada for the heifer as I am only hosting this one until it is sold. PM me for $ info.

I have Kerry bull semen for 5 purebred, registered Kerry bulls, if anyone is interested in AI-breeding with Irish Kerry genetics. All of these bulls were tested at UC-Davis VGL: Genotyped, PHA-free, Chondro-free, and homozygous for A2 Beta Casein (A2/A2). PM me for more information and full pedigrees:
