Yes, the pet cow could have a Dexter for her own pet! Just think, if you milked, instead of building a stanchion to raise your short cow, you'd have to put your stanchion in one of those pits they use to get under cars, so her udder wouldn't be so high above you!

Only weird thing is... No way is she the world's tallest. The ranch down from us had their 4004 lb 1991 national champion stuffed about 15 years ago and I can stand under its chin. ;-) His name was Lassiter and he is a Chianina, he was 6'6" at the shoulder... I've got several photos of him somewhere. He was shown by our friends teenage daughter - he was a very sweet bull. Now... they did say "cow", but to most folks that's generic and doesn't imply female. But...

It's a cow you can see her udder and I am sure there may be bigger ones out there but unless you apply for the record no one would know!

Also, to be in the Guinness Book of World Records, the animal has to be living. There might be a list of past record-holders somewhere to look up online to see who was the biggest ever. 4,000 lbs. makes me very thankful for my Dexters!
