Actually, her name is Holly and we gave her to our Catholic priest to help start a herd to feed the hungry. We donate beef to our parish, when we have extra, so we donated a heifer to start a church herd. Someone else from our church has some pasture to keep her and other parishioners are contributing to help raise her until she can have calves of her own. She will stay with us until weaning time. Her ear tag number is 1 because she is the first member of the new herd. Merry Christmas everyone! Nollaig Shona Daoibh!

Thanks, Copperhead. I'm sure I'm not the only Dexter owner that shares beef.

What a lovely and charitable thing to do. I hope she has lots of healthy calves that produce lots of meat for your church.
