"Using the ABBA/BABA test of genomic admixture, MacHugh and his colleagues also searched for evidence of post-domestication admixture between domesticated cattle and the wild aurochs. They found that the British aurochs made a significant genetic contribution to modern domestic cattle populations in Britain and Ireland. In particular, they noted that this genetic legacy is most apparent in traditional cattle breeds, such as the Highland, Dexter, Kerry, Welsh Black, and White Park breeds." www.genomeweb.com/sequencing-technology/ancient-british-aurochs-genome-provides-glimpse-complex-cattle-domestication www.genomebiology.com/2015/16/1/234Barb Sorry the link I was hoping to post didn't have you sign in. I'll see if I can find it again. Not sure what is going on. I can read it without signing in. I copied and pasted "Ancient British Aurochs Genome Provides Glimpse Into Complex Cattle Domestication" and it took me to the report without signing in.
