We are looking at purchasing a small Dexter heard but our pasture has Hemlock growing in the low areas. Do we need to eradicate this completely before getting the cattle? Does anyone know if they will eat this stuff?

Get in touch with your county agricultural extension agent; he/she will be able to walk your pastures with you and let you know what's okay and what's not okay and how to get rid of what's not safe.
Edited to add: Usually cattle will stay away from poisonous plants unless pasture conditions are so bad that there's nothing else to eat. It's best to get someone out there who can offer professional advice.

I would check to see if that is for sure what it is. I know there is another plant that looks very close but is harmless sorry cant remember what it is right now but I do remember it grows in the same conditions and may even be growing alongside of hemlock.
