I have only seen anything like that once and the cow had a tumor. I dont think a tumor could develop so quickly though.

I've seen a mare that had torn broad ligament of the uterus. She was malnurished and very heavy with foal. It looked very similar to the condition of the above cow. I don't know if at this stage the calf would be big enough to cause the ligament to fail.
