Last week I had to make a stop at a farm where Dexters are kept to gather some tail hairs. There is a machine shed building which has a stall on the end that the herd can access and is used as a pen for loading. When I was a distance away I could see the herd bull lying up against the wall at the back of the stall but something seemed "off". ( I'm nearsighted). As I drew closer I still could not focus and quite decide what was "wrong" with O'Malley. When I got close enough to take a photo this is what I could see: Attachments:

When I got to the side of the stall I could what was "wrong" with O'Malley that made his leg appear so "swollen". He was tending his day old baby! Mom was off to the side of the stall eating hay from a bale feeder. Attachments:
