We have been steadily working on our barn. We are big time do-it-your-selfers, so it's slow and steady! Hubby finished the roof last week, so we decided to go ahead and build out the milking room before we put the tin on the sides so it would be easier to move around. We still have a little to do, but we made really good progress. There will be a cedar rail fence seperating off the room from the other stalls in the barn and cattle panel on the gates. The other three wall will be tin. The room right next to the Milking area is the feed room, which will be completely in closed. So use your imagination until I can upload finished photos! ;D Full room view: Calf Pen Head lock Front view of stanchion: We put Lana in it to make sure all the dimensions were going to work and it was perfect! So excited!

Congratulations on your milking setup. I am glad you are going to enclose the milking area, it will be much more comfortable that way in nasty weather. Someone has done a great job.

Well Kimberly, Now I know why your girls haven't calved, they waiting for that great looking milking stanchion to be completed Here's hoping you'll be able to use it soon. Are you going to strip down the other cedar posts? Barb

Thanks Barb! The ones that might be exposed to the elements we won't strip. They last a lot longer with the bark on. The ones inside the barn that will not ever get wet, etc, we stripped. I need to post new pics. Preston finished the cedar rail fence across the front. It looks really pretty!
