Dinner was about 2 years old (we bought him when he was about a year old & don't know his exact age). Unfortunately I had no way to weigh him prior to butchering this morning. He had a last bite of oats & was on his way to the meat cutter within an hour. No stress. Will post the results when we get the meat back. Attachments:

Well, we've been enjoying Dinner. He dressed out at 333lb which was slightly more than what we had expected. All of the meat we've eaten so far has been exceptional. If anyone is interested in the breakdown I could list it here. We had our steaks cut at 1" and they've been absolutely wonderful. Our rib steaks weighed in at 280g way (weigh) less than the Angus steak next to it in the second picture. Our steer was hung for 14 days and is so flavourful and tender the steaks could nearly be cut with a fork. Both hubby and I preferred the taste of our Dexter to the ranch-raised Angus we've been eating (and THAT was a big improvement on the supermarket meat!)

I agree the side by side photos of the Angus and Dexter are nice to see. Who gets stuck eating the Angus steak?
