Just when I thought our week could not get any better after the brilliant classification results, we got home on Sunday to find one of the cows had calved. She wasn't due for 11 days so was a bit early and we found out why she had two little bulls. Broadway Babe wasn't too keen on feeding both, had polished one to within an inch of its life but was kicking the other one when it tried to feed. Back to the yards for her and the two babies, tied up bucket of feed and we held both at her udder and now she is happily feeding both. Thye have been put back out in the paddock near the house as I think she will need some extra feed and so we can keep an eye on her and the boys. they are running around now so nothing wrong with them!! I have named them Kaelan and Kieran.

Congratulations! So glad you were able to get her to accept them both. Poor thing, she probably thought she was seeing double!

Congratulations Marg, on having double trouble LOL. They don't come along too often. Thank goodness they were both boys, if you decide to keep only one a bull it may be a hard choice. It will interesting when their DNA is done if they come back as identical twins.
regards Louise

Congrats Marg....I have always wanted twins, even when I was PG with my girls....I just love twins....Just always something "special" about them...I always think GOD was extra generous to "special" people...Sorry I was not one of them....Maybe someday I will get twin calves....Good luck raising yours and congrats again....Donna

Hi Marg:
Twins are good news. Give BB a hug and congratulate her for me. Who's the sire? Have you used your imported semen yet? Anything on the ground? Are you pleased?
Cheers, c.

Hi Carol The twins are sired by Rawlings ET. Our US calves are all going great, 3 bulls and 2 heifers. Most impressive!!
Our next calf due is by BF Lasair, our first one by him so looking forward to that and have AI'd about a dozen to calve in Aug - Sept.
Gotta love babies and to see if you have made the right decisions into the right cows.

Hi Marg. nice to know you made the right choice. It's never easy, and so rewarding when it works out. You've worked hard and it's paying off. Now you just need to rent the ship and send some north to help out quality on the big island. cheers, c.
