SGF SSAB Akela ADCA# 021742 has been my herd sire for 4 years, but I am now using one of his sons. Eight of the 23 females in my herd are his daughters, and I am keeping 5 of them. He was born 04/05/09, is sire and dam qualified, is PHA free and Chondrodysplasia free, and remains the docile, friendly bull that he has always been. He is homozygous polled (P/P), red carrying dun (e/e B/b), and is A1/A2. Please contact me by email at j.potter@att.net or by phone at 269-697-9202 for questions and price.

Hi John, he's a beautiful bull. We still have your gal SGF Tina, she's 15 but going strong...we're behind but catching up on registering calves. She is our permanent Nana cow and a real sweetie :-)

Hi Bill, Thanks for the compliments (?) Of course I knew it was you before I saw your name! I took an unexpected & unplanned time out from the farm for a year (April 1, 2012 - March 31, 2013, then broke my leg after being back home for only a few months. I'm back to raising my Dexters (along with a small flock of Katahdin sheep). Out of necessity, my Dexter herd is way smaller than it has been for years, but I sure enjoy being with them again. Good ol' Mira guards me whenever I'm out with the herd, and she jealously tries to keep the rest of the cattle away from me. It's funny watching all the calves sneak around her and try to harass me. I have to depend on my 4-wheeler to get around because I lost most of my strength & stamina, but the critters are as much fun as ever. I'm glad to say that Akela goes out of his way to be gentle around me. Good to hear from you. Take care! John

Hi John, Here's a picture of Monty, 028903 Akela's 2 year old homozygous polled son. He started to work today.
