It's been a long haul, but finally my Fiancee and I are proud Dexter owners! Thank you Sheril and Hans of Lakeport Farms!! You have made us extremely happy! We are 1 step closer to our dreams! Will post pictures as soon as we get them. We have Maverick (bull) and Fallon (Heifer)! both duns, my favorite color! Yes I am a horse person who also has a soft spot for buckskin or dun and white paints!

"As soon as we get them?" Lol, no pressure huh Ruth? When things dry up a bit from the rain, Sheril is going to work on separating Fallon from her mom. Don't forget both are A2/A2 Maybe you'll decide to take them to the Armada Fair as well? Congratulations, we're really happy for you!

Congratulations, Rudi! Hans and Sheril will be a great resource for you as you start on your adventure of Dexter-owning. And I'm partial to buckskins, too. I bred my black (carries red) TWH mare to a cremello stallion with two agouti genes and had a chance of either a buckskin or palomino. Having been raised on Roy Rogers I would have been happy with a palomino, too, but I got my heart's desire, a buckskin! We don't have any chances at all of dun cattle, but I do think they're pretty!

I can relate to that anxious anticipation waiting for that first Dexter to arrive . It Hasn't been all that long since we lead "Moosters Swing Dance" into her new home. She was an"only child" until we got her a companion. That was 5 Dexters ago. I guess it's time that someone more eloquent than me brings up the Dexter cattle/ potato chip analogy. Congratulations rudi9396, and welcome to the world of Dexters, but a word of caution: they are extremely ADDICTIVE!

Ha, ha, Shawn. You must have been over on KFC. They are always saying "CALPC"--"Cows are like potato chips." Of course, that has to be explained for some of our international members or younger members who may not remember the old Lays Potato Chips ads: "You can't have just one." SO true!
