So far, everyone seems to agree that genotyping females is a very good idea.
We're already doing the males for registration, so we might as well do the females.
I haven't heard ANYONE say "I think genotyping females is a bad idea"
The ADCA proposal is as basic as it can be... "Start Genotyping Female Calves born in 2016"
You want more than that? great, it can be added later.... you want a different fee structure, great... that can be argued separately.
Even folks who aren't already genotyping females (I'm one of them), agree it's a good idea to start doing it.... they just need a little push in order to make it a priority.

The Legacy folks think genotyping is such a good idea that they implemented MANDATORY genotyping for both males and females in the Legacy registry a long time ago.
Here's the MANDATORY genotyping policy of the Legacy Registry:
"Registration requires that both the sire and dam of the applicant Dexter be registered Dexter cattle recorded in an existing registry. The applicant Dexter must be genotyped and entered in the Genotype Database with the Veterinary Genetic Laboratory, University of California. Breeders are encouraged to also add the sire and dam to the database and complete parentage confirmation."
