Hard post to make but it looks like I need to sell off my 3. My wife died of cancer a couple of months ago and I'm thinking the kids are more than I can deal with since I need to do some business travel and they're not cheap to feed during the winter. I was hoping for help coming up with pricing on these guys so that they'd be fairly priced for someone wanting a small herd for home and "pet" use but not so attractive that the wrong sort might be interested.
Steve the bull is registered but I never transferred it to my name. He wanted to taste the camera so was hard to get a decent side pic of him. He's good tempered but not halter trained. He's 3 years old
Buttons is remarkably gentle, has been milked a little although not regularly, and is halter trained. Best behaved girl one could hope for. She's roughly 5. Button's parents were registered but she isn't. She has a slight udder deformity where two teats on one side are basically together and should have been clipped as a calf but both work fine and separately. She nursed there just fine. In the pic she looks a little crooked but she was annoyed that I made her get up from loafing. She looks a little scruffy in her winter coat.
QT-Pi is their daughter. She's horned because both parents are heterozygous for the polled gene. She's a bit shy because I didn't have much time to work with her due to all the medical stuff that went on. Well behaved but not really trained. She's about 9 months now.
Location is far Eastern Washington.
I'd like to price them so that they are interesting and sell quickly but I don't want it so low that it attracts people to just croak them off for a beef dinner. I can make some guesses but I'd sure like to have feedback on what people think would be fair and move them. Still torn on whether I want to let them go or not. They're basically pet quality as I never intended to go into the breeding business.
Thanks for any input or help. This isn't a "for sale" ad....just asking for advice about selling.
