The other day we moved Claire and Macy away from the pasture where they had been with their 10 month old babies. Claire had dried up a few weeks earlier, but Macy was still nursing Portia, as you can see. Thus all the breeding Dexters found themselves at the middle pasture, which is our only one that has any flat spots to speak of. This allowed me to snap a few pictures comparing their heights. The black cows on left: furthest is Macy, Maxine's daugher; Maxine in the middle; then Penny. On opposite side of the trough: Jasmine is furthest, Belmont in the middle, and then Claire. Macy, Maxine and Penny. As same in height as you get. One is not like the others. Jasmine is definitely our tallest. Very happy with Belmont, our shortest yet! (Yes, that's his round black rear on the left) Little Jamie at 1 month old. Jamie and Jasmine.
