The standard sized round bale feeder is too big for Dexters and we were having trouble with three cows stomping around inside and cutting the round bale time down by several days. Out of curiosity, we flipped it over so the squares were on top and the slanted holes were on the bottom So far, no hay raiders inside the ring. The cows are still putting their heads through the squares to eat just fine.

I have trouble with pictures...Photobucket has so many pop ups and ads, it's hard to get anything done.
The only possible side effect is that a bit more hay leaks out of the bottom, but we'll see how long it lasts this time. If it's longer, I will call it a success!

I agree....Photobucket has become a real PITA, but once I'm able to load a photo or two, I can usually get something accomplished. It was a whole lot simpler a year or so ago, wasn't it?

Yes they are.
Round bale lasted several days longer and they were able to eat it all. Yay!
