Someone on here has a very well done drawing as their avatar (ahem, Pinevalleydexters ) and that made me wonder how many people have artwork of their Dexters. Is anyone here an artist? I attended a fair a few years ago and a nice lady gave me a free charcoal drawing of one of our cows with her calf. I thought it was well done, so I framed it to hang in our house. I can take a picture of it, if anyone else is interested? Anyone have any artwork to show? Kid drawings count, too.

littlecowfl, I can't take credit for my avatar Dexter drawing, it was shared on FB this spring. I used it for my avatar due to photobucket, they discontinued using the free link of photos for Proboards. They are charging a monthly fee now and I can't justify paying them 5.99 for my avatar. I really liked the drawing and thought it would be a perfect avatar. I like your idea of sharing our Dexter art work. I created a "Dexter Wall Hanging" that I drew and did a water color of, I then wove it on one of my looms. They are available to purchase. m.facebook.com/pinevalleydexters/?filter=2&sk=timelineThis is a link to our Facebook Farm/Weaving page, Dexter Hanging. I would love to see your framed Dexter art work!

I think this will work. This was from a local Celtic Fest fair. The artist did charcoal drawings for people at the fair. She was admiring our cow and calf so she made us one for free because her booth was nearby. I kept it because we lost this cow to lightning a few years later. We have more lightning strikes in Florida than any other state and it's one of the biggest killers of cattle. She was under an isolated tree and the storm whipped up quickly. The other cows still avoid that spot. The grass grows longer there. Our new farm has groups of trees instead of isolated trees. Groups are safer. i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/lonesomepinefarm/IMG_6863_zpsibk6n742.jpg

That wall hanging is neat! How did you do that? Thank you. I drew the Dexter picture and then painted it with water colors, next I made prints of my watercolor painting. Then I cut the print into strips, my husband cut pine strips the same size, I glued the picture strips to the wood ones, then I wove it on my tapestry loom (which my husband warped for me, put the thread on). After that I tied the ends and attached to a strip of barn wood that my husband also cut for me, which was from an old shed on our farm.
