Hi all,
My wife and i havent decided if we are going to get a cow or steer for our first Dexter. Whichever will be a calf. Out of curiosoty, does either eat more pasture grass than the other. I do know if a female is producing milk she will consume much more than the steer. But on general does one eat more than the other?
Thank you

It depends on what your looking for if you want meat raise a steer, a milk cow raise a heifer. A steer might be the way to start.
