Hi All,
New to the forum; I have a herd of 30 ADCA registered Dexters. I'm making a short video on the history of the breed, and wanted to include a factual account of the ADCA/PDCA split in 2004. Can anyone offer me a short account of that, or point me in the right direction?
Thank you!

Probably a subject left undisturbed. "Factual accounts" there will be many, just differences of opinion and hard feelings. You can go through the archives of this board and read several posts on the subject. I was around during the time and have seen many posts on the subject as others here have. As I stated early everyones "factual accounts" will be different.

Factual account: The PDCA split from the ADCA in 2004. Several leadership members became disenchanted with the ADCA and decided to form their own organization. Subsequent to the split, the PDCA has been subject to some of the same factors that caused the original members to become unhappy with the ADCA.

Nope. One leadership member became upset at the prospect of losing overall personal total control of the ADCA, asked for support from a few older members, ripped off the ADCA by stealing the only known copy of the registry software and database, and set up a new assn. using the pirated material, with herself back in control. Subsequent to the split, she tried to do it again with the new assn. when they got tired of the same issues. Best left alone, kiddo. I suppose you could say there were personality issues which caused some members to start a new assn., which unfortunately suffered the same issues. c.
