Newbie question...
If both parents are A2/A2, does that guarantee the calves will be A2/A2? Looking at a calve and the breeder says the calf doesn't have to be tested because parents are A2/A2.
I would like to keep my herd strictly A2/A2 and I don't wanna screw things up on my first cow.
Thank you, Armando

If both sire and dam have been tested and are A2/A2 the calf would be obligate A2/A2. No need to test the calf. The same holds true when testing for chondro and pha.

Yes as long as the calf has been sire and dam parentage verified, the obligate status holds true. The breeder should give you copies of the sire and dams A2 report if you purchase this calf.
