I have a 2 year old black heifer who was solid black except for a white line from her navel to udder. I put her out to pasture this summer with the bull, and three months later she is going grey! There are so many white hairs in her coat - I have never seen anything like it. Both her parents are solid black and registered. She has been DNA confirmed to both parents. She is well fed, has free choice hay, mineral and salt in addition to pasture. Any ideas? Sorry no pics yet but will upload soon. thanks

Fly bites can cause an immune/allergic reaction that causes white hairs to grow in. Has she been regularly treated for flies, to prevent excessive bites?

I'd go with Patti, but just so you know, there is an early greying gene in some Dexters. I've only seen it in Woodmagic descendants. It usually takes longer to come on, though. And, twice I've seen a white spot grow and grow and grow as a ring until it actually grew off the animal. The new hair inside the ring was black, so in the end, the animal reverted to black. I think this was some kind of major bite or virus. c.
