I am very curious about this & have been giving it a lot of thought.
Apparantly there is a theory, that when you milk your cow, (if you do it by hand) whatever ailment, chronic dis-ease or sickness you have, will go from you, to the cow and she will produce the antibody in her milk, In a round about way helping to heal you. (If you drink the milk) The first time I heard it I did'nt give it much thought and then I got thinking. When my Mother was a young girl, and a milkmaid for a dairy, she was known for her thick, healthy, knee length hair. yet, after she stopped working at the dairy her hair had all sorts of problems including that of thinning right out. According to Grandfather, It just missed the manure. (even though it never really made contact)
Yet, back when I milked the jersey, I had the same bonus- healthy, long, and wavy hair. (again credited to the manure)
Since I have stopped, My hair has thinned horribly, become incredibly dry and now, barely reaches my waist. However as I have recently began milking my dexter, I have noticed a remarkable change in not only the healthier quality of my hair, but it seems to be thickening again. (yay!) In addition I have found that my horrid allergy to bee stings is now only a mild swelling, rather than too swollen to walk, see or use whatever was stung. (I'm a beekeeper so I have plenty of time to get stung and compare results ;D ) Another cause to ponder.
Does anyone know where I can find more info on this?
Or should I just brush it aside as nonesense?
Thanks,
