Here are two recent pics of Sioux (17 y.o., big horns) and Maxine ( 8 y.o., thinks she still has the big horns) Maxine is our main milker, but for the last 2 lactations I was forced to dry her up early because she was getting too fat. I was already feeding her the cheapest/lowest protein grain available, but she was putting on a fat crest behind the "wither" anyway. Sioux isn't fat yet, but she is working on it. I weaned her baby about 3 months ago, she was a bit underweight then. Sioux is happy that we found this new pasture - it's full of grass to such a degree, that we have to move it down some.

Olga, I'm going to send this picture to a lady who is just getting into Dexters. I was telling her how they could live to a ripe old age and still produce. I think your cows are prime examples of this..........they just look great. P.J.
