I would say that she is a short-leg (= carrier) judging by the extra-short pasterns and the looks of the hoof, specifically the hoof angle to the pasterns. But! Erin, that I got from you, Liz, could be mistaken for a carrier too, because of her small stature. But one has to know the history - she was bred way too early (Erin was born in Feb. 1993 and had a baby on the ground by August of 1994) and her growth was definitely stunted.

Hi Olga, I think you have the wrong 'Liz'. I'm in Canada and I never had an 'Erin', but I do agree your cow was bred a bit too early. Eliden Reannagh is a 40" cow, who comes from a DNA tested chondro free maternal line and whose sire Saturn's Galaxy was also tested chondro free So no, she isn't a carrier, but without the testing it would be very difficult to tell. Her hoof angle is probably the 'view' of the camera, coupled with her horribly flat feet I took this picture for a 'Dexter pictorial' that I am putting together for a farm show on Sunday and realized how difficult it would be to be sure that she wasn't a carrier if I hadn't tested first. That's why I posted it. This is her full sister Eliden Ulicia, who at ten months is shorter than Reannagh was and so we'll see how she matures. Hopefully by February she will be tall enough for my AI tech. He already asked for a chair to sit on while servicing Reannagh!

well, the cannon bones say maybe, but the shoulder placement says no, and so does the curve above the hocks. Eyes don't bug out enough, and the nose is regular length, so I'm voting no. c.
