Sioux definitely lost some weight after her bout with coccidia. She is recovering steadily and today she ran to the trough, like she used to. Maxine always looks plump, no matter if she's being milk or middle of winter. She still has a bit of a fat hump behind her withers. MuuMuu, my favorite Beef-Dexter (or Dex-Master). Lovely girl. Staying in good condition this winter, which should be a good indication as her usefullness as our future meat-calf producer. Chocolate Chip, our beef steer for the fair in September. The Dexter docility is certainly rubbing off on him. Chip with his mate Elroy. They were in the pen together for a couple of weeks, during Chip's adjustment to the new place. Elroy is a long-leg and they are of the same age.

Thanks for posting pics, Olga! Love to see others' dexters.
I'm waiting for the flood to leave Tx so I can add some photos up of our dexters.

Nice pics Olga. How old is Sioux? She does look out of condition, but I'm sure you'll have her back in no time.

Thanks, Marion, Sioux surely gave me a scare. She was off feed for about a week during Arkansas' coldest weather on record. Recovery is slow.
Thanks, Kimberly, Elroy was born July 1, 2009 and Chip was said to be about 6 mo. old when we bought him in December. So they are both around 6.5 - 7 months old.
Thank you, dexterfan, hope the flood waters recede soon.
Hi Barb, Sioux is 17+. She's back to eating as much as she can and gaining weight. I'm crossing my fingers that she doesn't decide to calve this week, during sleet and snow.
