the one with Sasha with her head turned away is one funny colored cow, got a lot of ear to. The funny looking one is Ruby my milking Shorthorn... believe it or not she is a 'little' girl for her breed at only 47 inches and 850 pounds fully grown... She is also bred to Bully and yes I do plan to keep and milk her unless I can wrangle a deal out of her for a really great Dexter! Not only that but she is the entertainment crew for Bully (see pic below). I hate to take pics when it is so muddy and gloomy outside and when the cows are all shaggy.. but the ADCA pics were all taken when they were babies.

Very Nice! How far bred are your cows, out of curiosity?

They are all short bred for fall calves except Rosie and Ruby who should be calving in late spring/early summer. Everybody is biotracked positive. Except Cookie who was bred 3 weeks ago... need to draw blood on her again.

If that is muddy and gloomy please send it my way. I think I could handle those Texas woes until you hit them Summer time temps then I'll head back to these snow covered mountains. We have snow surrounding mucky mud (up to the knees of the Dexters) due to some mid winter thaw, but now we are going back into the deep freeze and won't be seeing those hot days in the mid to upper 30's for awhile. Highs will be low twenties and lows at or below 0. Fuzzy bodies are the norm for our Dexters they almost look strange for the short time they shed out to a smooth silky hair.
