That is too bad it wasn't tested the first time. It sounds like she has a good chance, but it must still be heart breaking for you and stressful to her. Hopefully all goes well. You'll both be in my thoughts and prayers.

PJ
I'm so sorry to hear the news about your heifer. Hopefully the meds the vet injected will be helpful.
All the best for you and her.

As a side note about eye cancer. I think this is one of the first cases I've heard about in the Dexter breed. There might be more of this out there it's just that I've never of any.
I know Herefords, Holsteins, and Simmentals are prone to eye cancer due to the white around the eye. My neighbor had a black baldy who had eye cancer.
Once again PJ hope things will work out.

Thanks all, I think 75% is a good set of odds, we'll just have to wait and see. Yeah Barb, I am surprised at the diagnosis, I've seen lots of cattle with "cancer eye" but they've always been animals with pink skin around the eye, not black. I'm going to do some searching on this and find out all I can. It's really frustrating for it to be this heifer, I really think she's the best I've ever raised and I had big plans for her, now I'm just hoping I can keep her alive. It is really stressful for her, she was held tight by her head, while he put the solution in several spots down inside the growth, she was really upset by the whole process, I'm sure it hurt.
