No they weren't dun, they were very red, just a funny photo that makes them look dun for some reason. The middle photo shows their real colour. Unfortunately, this pair were male / female and the female was a freemartin. The male turned out to be a bit weedy. But our last twins were both female, went on to breed and were totally normal, maybe slightly smaller. We've had just over 200 calves in the past few years and only 2 have been sets of twins. So that's 1% which is about the same as some other breeds I read somewhere.

alicia, I missed this. You don't ask for a non-dwarf cow, but if you'd like please feel free to use Rosegay's pic on the udder thread, I think it's on page 2. She was 19, on her 17th lactation. The udder there should make Barb feel better cheers, c.
