I have a pregnant Dexter cow that is coughing and clear stuff comes out when she coughs. She seems fine otherwise. Any idea what makes a cow cough?

We noticed a couple of our calves were coughing when we got them in for vaccinations. DH gave each a shot of penicillin. If your cow doesn't improve, you might want to have the vet check her. In the past, we have gotten Nuflor from our vet for persistent coughs in calves. www.ag.ndsu.edu/pubs/ansci/beef/as1154w.htm

clear is good. cows often times cough dusty conditions or hay dust can do it. If in doubt take there temperature if there is a temp then definitely something is wrong.
