I thought Jade had finally gotten over what ever caused her seizures, but today, out of the blue, she fell over like she'd been shot, smacked her head on the horse trailer, and was in a total daze. I don't know anything else to do for her, so I think I'm just going to take her to the auction and let her go for a canner/cutter and call it quits. I've babied her around for over a year, got weight back on her and still, I'm afraid to breed her again. We've tried everything we know to do for her and it's just a losing battle, I think she has a worm on her brain or something that bad. I am going to call the vet college at OSU and see if they might want her, to study her brain or whatever to find out what the heck is wrong with her I can't keep her as a pet, it's not feasable to keep her away from the bull, so I'm going to throw in the towel

Sorry for both of you. But it's not all that bad of an end for Jade, so don't feel bad. You've given her the best, too bad the problem hasn't resolved itself...

Gene, I have a freezer full of Dexter beef, I know how good it is, but I don't know whats wrong with her and I wouldn't feel comfortable eating the meat. thats why I raise my own beef, I know the animal was healthy. Thanks Olga, I have just tried everything I know to do, my vet said, if she was a human, we'd be getting a brain scan, but, since it's a cow, no. Thats why I'd like for the collage to take her and do the research as to what's wrong with her, I'm just hating the whole thing, we really love this ol girl, she came out of her "spell" and about took me down wanting her special feed. It's always like nothing ever happened, drives me nuts. Maybe someday I can buy a heifer back thats from one of her daughters.
