My experienced AI technician noted that a heifer of mine had a smaller than average cervix. She is neither a freemartin nor carrying chondrodyslasia. Is this a known problem in some lines? If so is anyone brave enough to say which ones?

dextercattle.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=cow&action=display&thread=2440That thread has in my experience been the only one related to your question, in all the time since I've been reading Dexter forums and Dexter Yahoo groups. I would say that most Dexter breeders have no calving problems. That should make it very easy to narrow down the lines that do have the predisposition for small cervix and narrow pelvis.
