Hi Hans, thanks for the advice. I decided after all I'd read (mostly here on the board), to try and let the cows nurse this year until their calves were 10 months or so. Emcee got booted off her mom at 6 months, her dam is the "udder issue?" thread. Here they are together, Lily is on the right and 1 week older. She will be separated from her mom in January.
I like your weaning tool, though I doubt we have as much need for it as you guys do!! ;-)
