Thanks all. After coming in to a cold rain & thunderstorm, Lily enjoyed a warm spring day. She took far too long to get a good belly full of milk, mom was not cooperating. I think she was sore. I ended up milking each quarter just a bit to get things moving, & then mom let her latch on. She seemed tiny to us, weighed @34 lbs. Very pleased, this cow lost her calf last year, very happy for her

I am so jealous! Still waiting for my calf and what I wouldn't give for some of your beautiful green grass! We got over 1 1/2" of rain last night so maybe Ours will start growing. Congratulations!

Congratulations on the heifer calf Joel! They look better than candy in the green grass of an Easter basket to those of us who love our Dexters. Little kids may not agree, however They'd probably prefer a chocolate Easter Bunny.

Feeding today and watching Lily I remembered how small she seemed at birth. She's quite a chunk now, still nursing though I never see her. Just evident from a slobbery looking hairy udder.
