When I started out as a new breeder, John Paterson's collection of information on the Dexter breed was very helpful to me and it was found on the "Dex-Info.net" website. John had summarized many historical documents and provided the bibliographical references, so I then had a starting point to search out articles of interest for more indepth information about the breed. The Dex-Info.net website was later discontinued, and so John transferred much of the information it had contained to a blogspot: dex-info.blogspot.com/Patti

Lindon; anything backed by stats is reliable. Anything based on gossip and 'opinion' is better taken with a grain of salt. The DCS has just had some issues, and their genetics guru has suggested that in the wake of some animals' pedigrees being questioned years and years after the fact, with no proofs or hard evidence, and no way of determining the value of the fresh gossip, information in the herd book should be given precedence over the gossip. Just wanted to give you a heads-up. cheers, c.
