I tested a calf for red and it came back E+E+ The grand dam was E+E + I just got the results on the dam and they are e/e. Can that be?

Will,
There is an error somewhere, please provide the lab with the information about the granddam, dam, and calf, and have them retested. You may need to provide fresh samples for the lab to work with, to make sure that the error wasn't in the sampling.
You may also want to parentage verify (sire and dam qualify) the calf, to make sure that its dam is who you think she is. Sometimes cows trade calves and if you don't catch the switch-up when it happens, you may have the wrong dam paired with that calf.
