I have only had one bull here, having used AI for the first nine years. I was surprised that he had his own little noise, a short gentle, musical whine. So, I figured that was what they all did. This afternoon I was at my daughters', I was helping her pack up yard sale stuff as it got toward evening, and a Lynch Lineback bull in the field nearby started calling. Apparently he keeps it up for hours. One noise was a very low pitched rumble, interspersed with a really screeching grating sound, like the first part of a donkeys bray. Boy, am I glad I don't have to listen to that all night! Maybe someone who has kept a lot of bulls can tell me..do Dexters always have a more melodious sound, or is it an individual thing ..marion

My big herd bull is very vocal. Screams across the fence for the ladies to hear that he is the greatess thing since time began. Then when I am around doing things close to him he has a low growl. He is funny I guess he is complaining to me that he does not have enough women to keep him happy. Who knows I sure would like to know what it means.

My two bulls have totally different voices as two most of my cows. Most I like to hear but at 2 a.m. there's really none that I like.
