no but they are not good. continuous suction is not good for the animal. It causes tissue damage and pops blood vessels. They need pulsation.

We have one of these units, and we've used it on cows to cleanly collect excess colostrum (to freeze for later use or for one of our neighbors that makes a special custard with colostrum). It's okay for occasional use, not for daily use. With the Uddery EZ milker, you have to start milking by hand, then place the teat into the rubber teat holder, then create and maintain a slight vacuum, and then allow the milk to flow into the collection bottle. It doesn't work well if the cow can't let down easily or if the teat doesn't fit well into the teat holder. The collection bottles only hold a quart, and you have to stop milking to change out each bottle, as it fills. This becomes very tedious when we have a cow with 4 or 5 quarts of excess colostrum or milk.
If you're going to milk a cow every day, the Udderly EZ Milker is not a good way to do it.

Hello everyone, I was just reading these post on using this easy milker...Is this the machine EZ milker or the hand milker?...Would the hand EZ Milker be any better if you are just going to milk once in awhile?...The video the guy uses to use his hand milk , looks very easy, but then again, he is milking a goat...I wonder if it would wok as well on a cow?...Any comments?....dexterlady

Donna,
This is a hand powered milker. It is easy to use, but it really doesn't work as well as the ad claims. If anyone wants to buy one of these, my Udderly EZ Milker is for sale at half the price that I paid for it.
