Nice photos Diana! I love your first caption, it is so like Violet. She and her sister Vanessa were always the first to go running into the new strip I'd open up to pluck the pears and apples off the trees. As you have learned, she's a bit of a stinker but in an entertaining way, and she's doing a great job for you making milk and feeding Kobe. Nolan (and Kobe for the next couple of years) are pretty lucky to have you too. We'll have to make the trip over to see them all, and you and the family when Sheril finishes up school for the year.
You know the wintering area for the garden? Well, we have too much "garden". We were hoping to have it ready to plant this weekend, but it is still wet, and I'm trying to clear out and pile up remnants of the round bales of straw I dumped in there over the winter to give everybody warm bedding. Hopefully yours has gone better than ours has. I'll be working on it the next couple of evenings.

Sheril saw it and said the caption should be "Oh, I see you have first cutting grass hay for the boys, when is my alfalfa being delivered?"...lol

Her Royal Highness will have to wait. I should have posted an "after" pic of the mountain of busted bales on the ground after we emptied the wagon. I'm sure she's proud of herself. Our garden is in the same situation! But on much smaller scale. I should have been planting this weekend, arrrg.

I loved the "selfie" (there was a thread here about "felfies", which are selfies with livestock) photo you sent Sheril of Lily and Violet. The best one I've seen yet For the garden, fortunately I have a two bottom plow for the tractor 3 pt., along with a disc harrow, rototiller, and cultivator, so I'm able to work it in with my MP3 radio hearing protection and a fair bit of diesel. There is a lot of organic matter that I have to put in a pile to compost to spread around areas where the soil isn't so rich in the future.

That's nice looking hay. Dexters are just so greedy. Even with full bellies they can always eat "just one more thin wafer" (for all those Monty Python fans).

"Where does he get those wonderful toys?" --Joker in the 1989 Batman (had to look it up and now feel old because I really didn't think it was that long ago). And thanks, I'll dig up the "felfie" thread and add Lily's pic:) Haha, "felfie," I love it.
