- On June 4 I sent off two sets of DNA tests in the same mail. One to TAMU for sire verification for Tiggy and one to UCD for the whole works for Wellie.
- On June 9 I got a confirmation email from UCD that the sample had been received.
- On June 12 I received the following results from UCD (I'm including it as the email read, thinking of the recent thread about them saying "Polled" when it's really lots more!):
"Dexter / Polled Test Results for ZH Duke of Wellington(DEX451):
MC1R (Extension) Result: E+/e - Animal has one copy of wild type and one copy of recessive red and is red in color.
Bulldog Dwarfism Result: N/BD1 - Carrier, has one copy of the Dexter BD1 Bulldog mutation. Breeding to another carrier will produce 25% affected calves.
Polled Result: Pc/H - POLLED. One copy of the Polled-Celtic molecular marker is present. At least 50% of the offspring will be polled."- Also on June 9 I received this report from UCD:
"Parentage and Genetic Marker Report for ZH Duke of Wellington(DEX451):
ZH Duke of Wellington Pending qualifies as an offspring of ZH Zephyrhill Siobhan 030903 and FF Lil' Christmas Cash L00677P-10PH."
- On June 16 I received this report from UCD:
"Milk Protein DNA Test results for ZH Duke of Wellington(DEX451):
A2 (Beta Casein) Result: A1/A2 - 1 copy of A2 present. If bred to A2/A2 animals, 50% of offspring will be A2/A2
Kappa Casein Result: A/A
Beta Lactoglobulin Result: B/B"
- I have yet to receive anything from TAMU.
I'm not making any commentary. I'm just stating what has happened with this experience, the first time I've sent samples simultaneously to have any chance for comparison. For what it's worth.
