You will need the UC-Davis lab case numbers for the genotype reports in order to proceed with this and Judy should be able to provide these to you.
Really??? Judy can supply it not the owner of the test? When I give someone UC Davis lab cases I have to sign the case report saying that a specific person has permission to use it.

A genotype, ( DNA test) in both humans and animals serves the specific purpose of permanent ID and parentage confirmation when the genotypes of parents and progeny are compared.
For a lay person there is NO OTHER use for a genotype. The locus types are selected as being the most unique for the purpose of parentage verification. There are some breeders of large herds who have tried to trace genetic traits with markers. There are no reported successes. Dr. Cothran of the Cothran lab located on the campus of Texas A&M, a PHD scientist attempted to trace genetic traits of Dexters using the markers of ADCA owners without reported success. Any concern regarding DNA genotypes for other purposes is basically unfounded fear. Having made that statement, because a genotype IS a unique permanent ID care should be taken at all times that ownership of the information contained in a genotyped be confidential and ownership honored for that reason alone. There is NO other genetic information to be gained from a DNA genotype of a Dexter animal.
A case number ( UCD) or ascension number ( Cothran lab) gives NO information. It is merely a reference number. These case numbers SHOULD be available to breeders for the purpose of ordering parentage confirmation from their laboratory of choice. Legacy has always recognized the importance of these case numbers being available to breeders present and future for identifying the parentage of their animals and this information is available in two locations. The registration number of Legacy entries is based on the DNA case number so that one only has to search for an animal in the Legacy online database and the registratin number IS the DNA case number. A second entry is made in the information sheet for the individual animal where the case number is entered.
All registries which require owners to DNA genotype and parentage confirm animals should make these case numbers available in their online databases. With the use of two laboratories in the US herd it has been an undue burden for breeders to (1) locate the identity of the ADCA testing lab (2) determine the case numbers of ADCA animals for parentage confirmations. It is a courtesy to breeders to provide this information.
