Snapped a shot of our young bull today and thought I'd share. He's 15 months old, very sweet and halter broken, and very talkative (I've decided the talkative part is a chondro thing). LOL

How tall is he now Sheri?
Most of ours don't talk too much, but we have one little one that must think every day is "talk like a pirate day", because he walks around the pasture all the time with a low pitched "rar rar rar rar". He's a good looking boy too, he ended up beating the Wieringa's junior bull AGM champion at the local fair this summer.

Sheri my chondro bull is a talker too! Always has something to say...Just this evening while Mark and I were milking and Nolan was HOOOOOTing at us (concerned about his lady being out of the pasture or jealous of her dinner?) we were joking he should be named Hootie. He does the "rar rar rar" too--I've never thought of it like pirate talk but I sure will now. I always feel compelled to talk back to him, like moo-ing out the car window at a field of cows, just can't help it.

He's a very nice-looking guy, Sheri. It looks like he's got nice length, too.

I thought the same thing, Susan, he is nice and long. The length allows for more room inside so he doesn't like pot-bellied like some chondro+. Instead he just looks like a nice bull!

He is still so young I haven't bothered to measure him. I will do that today because now I'm curious. He's a puppy dog and scratches are his highest daily priority. He's a very easy keeper and had never had any grain, but he does like to occasional apple horse cookie when I'm out in his pasture. ;-)

The chondro boys are like that We have a little over a year old polled red chondro A2 boy ourselves, Rebel Patriot. We just split him off with our cow Tallulah a few days ago for a romantic weekend together in another pasture. Tallulah makes really nice calves, so we're looking forward to the result in 9 months I hope.

He is 32" tall at the hip today. His first first was, by what I've witnessed, conceived this morning. ;-)
