Semmerling is one of the smallest Derringer .45 pistols. (Get it, Pistol had a smaller pistol, lol)

I saw you had written that a Semmerling is a small Derringer; I was just kidding that it must mean "Fur Ball." But that is a very clever name!

Awesome pictures! What a puffy little puff. Our first calf is due this week. I sure hope he/she has a coat like Semmerling's; the temps are supposed to be in the single digits.

Today, about 56 days after her first weigh-in, Semmerling is 82 lbs. Her daily rate of weight gain is 0.77 which is a lot less than Cary's was. I wonder if the difference has to do with her being a carrier of chondro or different genetics or amount of milk that her mother has. Regardless, Semmmy is a chunk, she feels very solid, and dragging her to the barn, up the hill was quite a chore. She is a stout little girl, no question there.
P.S.: as per US Jersey "Quality Heifer Brochure", Semmy still managed to double her birth weight in 56 days.

Polly had another heifer last Sunday, November 8. It was a bit of a surprise as she had her last one on December 18th and never looked heavy pregnant.
