We still have some areas of our pasture with snow on them. It looks like we won't be grazing until later in May this year unless it really warms up a lot. Good advice though about the "pay me now, or pay me later". I drive by some farms around here and already see cows and horses in the pasture even though there isn't any green grass showing yet. They will be paying for it by mid summer.

Funny you mentioned that article I just got done reading it tonight myself and posted to my FB page . The author was actually the host of our local grazing conference in March . It answered one of my questions about allowing enough stockpile to last until the rest of our grass is at the prime stage for grazing.I went through some of mr sheltons other articles too and the one about were cattle have been and were they are going was interesting also.
