We have a little hill all to ourselves in the Tennessee boonies, a little cabin perched on top and 22 acres to call our own. My hubby and I were contemplating on how to earn some additional income from the acreage and stumbled across Dexters. The setup is already here, thanks to our beloved Morgan horses. With some modifications to the existing structures, we hope to run a herd of ten cows and their offspring. We already have a (very spoiled) steer, two heifers and a young bull, and will add five adult cows, another heifer and a young steer this summer. This forum has been very helpful in making choices and educating us. Thank you, all! Nothing, though, beats road trips and visits. I had no idea that cattle could be so fascinating and endearing!

Welcome to the wonderful world of dexters. There are at least 8-12 dexter breeders here in TN. Couldn't find a better place to settle.

Welcome, poco, I'm glad you found Dexters and glad the forum has been helpful for you. And yes, road trips to meet them them in person are great fun! We're just south of the TN border in GA, near Chattanooga. We love our Dexters.
