Highland bull to Dexter cows?

I'm new to cattle breeding, and other than having four cows currently, which are just pets, I'm pretty need to cows in general. However I'm looking to raise some beef for our own family. Would dexter cows be okay calving from a Highland bull? From things I've read online, it seems like they would probably be okay, but looking for some other input . Thanks so much!

Welcome, hobbyfarmer! I can't help you with your question, but maybe someone else can. I'm assuming your cows are Dexters? Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you're thinking of a Highland bull instead of a Dexter?
