Can you cut the tips of the horns of a 7 month old bull? Will they continue to grow?

You can 'tip' the horns of any age bull. Results vary depending on your skill (or that of your vet's). If they are cut too close, they will bleed. A lot. Our vet tipped our bull's horns and did a great job. No blood. They still have horns to defend their herd, but the difference is that they won't be sharp. I don't think they stop growing. Anyone else know for sure?

I'm not sure. The horns grow from the base, don't they? We had the horns of a cow tipped because they were turning and pointing toward her forehead and we wanted to avoid a problem. OB wire was used to do this -- no blood (just took about an inch or two off). redbud2017, ask your vet this question and let us know.

Yes, they continue to grow, and can be just as damaging as if you hadn't tipped them at all. Much better to simply teach him manners. In this case, that means you are the herd leader, and you don't take any guff from anyone, least of all him. If you work it right, you should be able to control him with just voice. At least that's my experience. cheers, c.

It's not a bad idea if you work closely with your animals. A head swinging around for a fly can do more damage if the horns are sharp.
